Distributive Justice
Distributive justice is a big phrase, but the idea is simple:
It means making sure everyone gets what they need to live a safe, happy, and healthy life.
In Catholic Social Teaching, distributive justice reminds us that:
Every person is important and loved by God.
Everyone should have access to basic things like food, water, a home, education, and safety.
Resources in our community and our world should be shared fairly, especially with people who have the least.
It doesn’t mean everyone gets exactly the same thing.
Instead, it means helping people according to their needs, so everyone has the chance to grow and do well.
At school, we can practise distributive justice by:
Sharing our time and talents
Including others in games and activities
Supporting charities that help people in need
Being kind and looking out for one another
Distributive justice is all about fairness, kindness, and caring for others—just as Jesus taught us.
