Admissions
If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.
Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception Class)
Your child is about to start one of the most important stages of their education which will lay the foundations for future learning and success and we are delighted that you have considered St Joseph's.
Here at St Joseph’s we aim to ignite a passion for learning within our children that will last a life time. We want children to be free to explore, question and develop in their own way.
We continuously strive to create new, exciting, motivating and enriching learning experiences for our children, and with your help and support we can give your child the very best start to their school careers. Learning in the Foundation Stage is centred around the idea of learning through play. This means that children are active learners who draw new knowledge and experiences from all aspects of their school day.
Children learn without even realising they are learning... The sand may be filled with magic butterfly writing sticks for children to practice their letter formation. The water may be full of numbered lily pads with children trying to find the right number of frogs. The role-play area is a whole new world of wonder for children to explore, talk about, read about and write about!
The Foundation Stage is topic based and at St Joseph’s the children are in charge of which topics they learn about which means that learning is personal and relevant to them. As long as the fun never ends neither does the learning!
Application forms are available directly from school or your childs nursery school.
