  Dear Parents and Carers,
  As we celebrate Harvest, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude, generosity and service to others. As a Catholic school, we are called to share our blessings with those in our local community who may be experiencing times of difficulty. We are therefore inviting children and families to donate items to support our local foodbank.
  We ask that donations are brought into school by Tuesday 13th October, ready for our Harvest Mass. We will, however, continue to accept donations throughout October.
  Pope Francis reminded us: “The measure of the greatness of a society is found in the way it treats those most in need.” Through our Harvest appeal, we have an opportunity to put our faith into action and show love and compassion to others.
  We recognise that the current economic climate continues to place pressure on many families, so please do not feel that you have to make a donation. There is absolutely no expectation for families to contribute.
  Following our Harvest Mass, members of our Faith Council will deliver the donations to our local foodbank, where they will be shared with people in our community who are in need.
  As Scripture reminds us: “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18
  We would be extremely grateful for any donations you are able to make. Donations can be sent into your child's class or handed to the school office.
